To celebrate India’s 63rd Republic Day cabin crew on a Finnair flight from Helsinki to New Delhi performed a Bollywood routine to entertain passengers.

Ms Kaartinen, the flight attendant who came up with the idea told the New York Times: ‘It was a good way to show respect.’

A plan carrying passengers from New Jersey to Warsaw was forced into an emergency landing at Warsaw airport when its landing gear failed. The plan had originally circled the airport for about an hour before landing however crew were unable to release the landing gear. The pilot dumped any excess fuel before attempting a landing which meant there was less risk of a serious fire. As you can see from the video, the pilot of the Polish operated aircraft successfully landed the plan with fire crews on standby, who were ready to put out the small fire caused. No passengers or crew were injured.

The failure by the Eurozone members to agree anything is causing major problems around the world’s financial markets and you do wonder how long the economy could last without a decisive decision.

Around the world last night markets tumbled before closing and as many analysts can see for the past few months the stock markets have been simply treading water when it comes to stability as investors become nervous. After the announcement that that G20 countries pledged to step in and help the financial markets, many investors this morning took to buying shares, on the cheap which helped keep the markets looking ok early on, however its wasn’t to last.

The nervousness of the economy especially the Euro is compounded by the fact that Greece seems unable to find a way to stabilise their economy, already after two bailouts a third is starting to look like it won’t actually be an option and this is what is causing problems with European banks which have funded the previous bailouts. Should Greece be allowed some sort of default or should it be looking towards yet another bail out by the European Central Bank and subsequently other European nations?
